Elkins Band and Guard Directors

Taylor Landers is a recent graduate of the University of Houston with a dual degree in psychology and sociology. He has an a wide variety of color guard experience both locally and nationally including: 3rd place with the prestigious Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corp., a WGI National championship, and 5 TCGC state championships. It is a pleasure, to add him to our mighty Elkins Staff.

Robin Rodriguez is a graduate of Cypress Lakes High School. She currently attends Lone Star College majoring in Music Education. She is an active educator and composer and has been playing percussion for many years and has participated in both marching and concert competitive ensembles in TCGC and Texas UIL while obtaining numerous awards both individually and in ensembles.  She is involved with TCGC, WGI, PAS, DCI, and TMEA.  Robin has spent the past summer on staff with the award winning George Ranch High School Band and the Cy-Lakes Band. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kevin Hernandez is a well seasoned and versatile percussionist and musician. He has been playing percussion since the age of 10.

Under Kevin's direction, the award winning George Ranch High School Band won their first TCGC Concert A Class State Championship.  Kevin led the Foster High School Falcon Band, 8 time Texas Color Guard Circuit Percussion Scholastic Open Class Champions and 4A UIL State Finalist.

Kevin has written performance pieces for high schools and colleges across the state. He is involved in the TCGC, WGI, PAS, DCI, and TMEA serving as percussion coordinator for TCGC from 2006-2008 and is also a former member of the Bluecoats. Kevin plays with local bands in his free time and is focused on his main project "Where Vegas Lies". Kevin is endorsed by Pro-Mark drumsticks and mallets and Pearl percussion.
